Land Rover Jaguar and Government Finance
It now appears that the car firm and government are attempting to agree some form of state help for the firm now owned by Tata.
Jaguar Land Rover employs around 15,000 UK workers, and has already cut shifts at some plants due as demand as slumped.
The most likely option appears to be a loan guarantee scheme that could help the company get the credit it needs to keep paying wages.
The UK Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders says the industry supports over 200,000 manufacturing jobs and another 580,000 workers in other areas such as sales, servicing and refuelling.
The US government is attempting to rescue the biggest three American car makers, GM, Ford and Chrysler however it is looking likely that a "orderly bankruptcy" is one option.
