Car Hire Shortage causes hire rates to rise.

Holidaymakers in parts of the UK and Europe are facing a shortage of Hire cars and a larger bills due to a shortage of vehicles.

Many hire firms have not replaced fleets due to the forecasts of lower tourist numbers this combined with problems over financing replacements has meant a shrinkage in the number of vehicles available.

Apparently a last-minute holiday bookings surge is adding to the pressure on car hire firms at many popular holiday destinations.

Spain is the worst affected, with those who can get a car having to pay up to twice normal rates. The best advice to ensure you have booked and agreed any car hire with a reputable car rental company before you set off.
