US to end Cash for Clunkers Scheme

The Cash for Clunkers Scheme in the US looks likely to end only three weeks afyer the US Government had pumped in a second boost of two billion dollars.

The scheme has certainly been successful in helping auto manufactures sell cars but the system appears to be dogged by slow administration

Out of 457,000 dealer transactions worth about $1.9 billion in rebates less than 40% of the applications for rebates by the dealers and manufacturers have been processed.
