Driving on the Continent - Know what you need
Different rules apply when driving throughout Europe but the AA has highlighted the fact that with more drivers choosing to drive to their European destination rather than fly they are still travelling totally unprepared.
Some countries require you to carry a first aid kit, reflective jacket, spare light bulbs, fire extinguishers and even spare glasses.
Documents include a valid driving licence, insurance certificate and original registration document or VE130 if the vehicle is leased or hired.
